ELANTRA N

2025 Hyundai Elantra N Hero

A single-letter suffix sets the Elantra N apart from the standard Elantra, but what does it stand for? That powerful “N” character represents two significant locations: Namyang, Hyundai Motor’s global research and development center in South Korea, and Nürburgring, home to Germany’s renowned racetrack and Hyundai’s European technical center. Any Hyundai model bearing the “N” designation boasts a high-performance engine, exclusive transmission options, and racing-inspired equipment, technology, and styling. Simply put, the 2025 Elantra N is a flashy, fun-to-drive car that doesn’t compromise the practicality that has made the long-running non-N sedan a favorite among Hyundai owners.

Powertrain and Performance

Under the 2025 Elantra N’s hood is a 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder mated to a 6-speed manual transmission; the optional N 8-speed wet dual-clutch transmission (DCT) with paddle shifters is at the ready for drivers who aren’t up for doing their own shifting. The maximum output for this powertrain is 276 horsepower and 289 lb.-ft. of torque. It’s good on fuel, too, with EPA-estimated fuel economy ratings of 21 mpg around town and 29 mpg on the highway. Hyundai has equipped it with a front-wheel drivetrain and the proprietary N Corner Carving Differential, an electronically controlled limited-slip differential that enhances everything from traction to cornering.

For a more personalized drive, the sedan has an N Grin Control System with five settings: Normal, N, Eco, Sport, and Custom. The Sport and Custom modes have a Launch Control feature that allows for quicker acceleration from a complete stop. Its electronically controlled suspension consists of front and rear stabilizer bars, a MacPherson strut front with coil springs, and a multilink rear suspension. The sedan also has a rear chassis brace to upgrade its handling, responsiveness, and overall performance.

Standard and Available Features

The Elantra N comes as a single trim package that includes N-exclusive front and rear fascia, a matte-black front grille, a wing-type rear spoiler and matte-black rear diffuser, gloss-black window trim, and N unique side sill moldings. It comes from the factory with Michelin Pilot Sport 4S summer tires on 19-inch alloy wheels. Some of its other exterior features of note include automatic dual LED projector headlights, LED daytime running lights, LED taillights, heated and power-adjustable side mirrors, a remote keyless entry system, and Proximity Key entry.

The track-inspired elements continue inside with leather and Alcantara-trimmed sport-bucket seats, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, alloy sport pedals, and alloy door-sill plates. For comfort and convenience, the Elantra N comes with heated front seats, dual automatic temperature control, solar glass, dual USB ports in both rows, wireless device charging, and a 10.25-inch digital gauge cluster. Versions with the available automatic transmission also get a power tilt-and-slide sunroof.

Advanced Driving Aids

The ‘25 Elantra N is well protected thanks to SmartSense, a suite of advanced safety and convenience features found on all new Hyundai vehicles. The version in the Elantra N consists of blind-spot collision warning, lane following assist, lane keeping assist, driver attention warning, forward collision-avoidance assist with pedestrian detection, rear cross-traffic collision-avoidance assist, parking distance warning (forward/reverse), speed limit assist, safe exit warning, and high beam assist.

Infotainment and Connectivity

The ‘25 Elantra N pairs an 8-speaker Bose audio system with a 10.25-inch high-resolution touchscreen, which is the hub for managing onboard navigation, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, the Bluetooth hands-free phone system with voice recognition, HD Radio, and SiriusXM. Its other attributes in the tech department include a Wi-Fi hotspot, Hyundai Digital Key 2, and access to Bluelink+ connected car services.
