If you buy a used car make sure they have title in house. Do not buy a vehicle from these criminals, sold me a used Sonata with 8,000 miles and talked me into the extended warranty "bumper to bumper" for $1,600.00. Had a problem whereby water was spraying periodically on the floor of the passenger side. It was a clogged ac line. (First time that happened- climate change?), anyway, Omar, the service manager got me in first thing in the am and got me out within 20 minutes, 20 MINUTES!! A dealership of nothing but men - it shows in their treatment of me as a new, female, young, cash buyer. While the Sales Consultant I dealt with was helpful, the General Sales Manager (specifically Dennis Carrillo) left much to be desired. Having recently moved back to the US, I test drove the Tuscon Limited at Balise Hyundai and was keen to find / buy it. That's when the circus started. 1. Witholding the truth - Despite knowing what car I wanted, they didn't inform me of the various ways I could find it / have it transferred to their dealership. Instead they told me that the car I wanted wasn't overly available and I would struggle to find it. That was lie number 1. I found the exact car specs either in transit or on the lot at 4+ dealerships nearby. 2. 'Negotiable Fees' they claim aren't negotiable - for ex. 'Paint & Fabric' and 'Car Doc' fee. While every dealership has some sort of 'admin' fee, this dealership tacks on a whopping $688 'doc fee' and will claim the $998 'paint and fabric' fee is mandatory totaling $1,686. On their own paperwork and by law - note, these fees ARE negotiable. 3. PO #s Made Up - once I'd landed on the car I wanted to buy and it was in the lot, I visited again to talk #s. The SC provided me with a PO (worked up by the GSM) which was beyond sloppy and with #'s that didn't add up... and not just once but several times. So a 2nd, 3rd, and 4th PO were produced. The below changed every time: - a State reg. (should be flat) fee for the state I am registering the car in started off at $220 - and changed to $257, $260 and with the final PO a bizarre $668.15. Proving you just can't believe the BS numbers they give you, ever. - Sales Tax is a flat % per state / county calculated against all but the state reg. fee. So it didn't make sense that when the $988 'P&F' fee was removed from my final PO reducing the overall cost, that sales tax INCREASED by some $300. Another clear ex. of their funny business and # fiddling. Overall, it became clear that the GSM provided shady PO’s deliberately to buy themselves time over the weekend, where they thought they might be able to sell the car I wanted for $$$ by the end of Oct. I was at my wits end - completely upset by this process. I gave them a final # I would consider - no more game playing. But they didn't stop there. The GSM now said they'd consider my offer if I agreed to finance with them at their ridiculously high interest rate vs. my banks 2.25% which they could never match. I of course refused. So predictably, on Oct. 31st (with the car still sat in their lot on Sunday evening Oct. 30th) - what do you know? I receive a message from the SC direct saying the GSM will now accept my final offer (no financing). So the saga continued. After having being told for 1 week+ that they would accept a Wire Transfer and could take a deposit to ensure the deal went through by EOM to meet their #s, in speaking to the GSM Dennis that Monday AM when they accepted my deal (at 9 AM) - he told me "he would not honor the deal unless the total funds were in his account that day" and why? "Because he didn't want to." He claimed it was Balise policy... but that was another lie according to the GM. So in discovering my banks WT request could take up to 2 days, I proceeded to take the day off work to drive to Groton, CT (where my military bank has a branch) to collect a cashiers check. Only to find out that same afternoon from James McMahon (GM) that the deposit / WT would have sufficed. Following a strong word with James (who claimed to have agreed to my final offer 3 days earlier on Sat. / well before their month end), I've come to the conclusion that the entire situation was a ruse between the GM and GSM, deliberately playing good and bad cop. These people are the reason car salesman have the slimy, scheming, reputation they do. And if I hadn't liked my SC / wanted that exact car, in mint condition just 15 mins. from my home as much as I did - I would have done everything to finalize the deal with their partner dealership for that same car, just to spite them.

This is a dishonest dealership. I purchased a used Toyota from them with ~80,000 miles. It seemed fine and they had replaced two tires. The sales manager promised me a 1500mi/30 day warranty, which they did not include in the paperwork and I had to call them on it to get it. It's the standard state warranty, and on the back is a detailed list off all the potential issues, and they said, "That's what's covered." Turns out, that's not true. Those things are only covered IF they pose an immediate safety issues making the car non-road-worthy. Then I took it to a Toyota dealer to have it checked out and have any repairs addressed under that warranty. Here are the problems it had: Control arm bushings are cracking; struts are rusted and weak; radiator leak; exhaust pipe leaks; engine, cabin and HVAC filters all show rodent issues - both feces and being chewed on; brake pads & rotors needed to be replaced and calipers needed to be cleaned/serviced; right front window didn't roll down, a tail light was out, rearview mirror was discolored/obscured vision. Spark plugs are overdue for being replaced based on age. Plus there is other routine maintenance which was not done. They agreed to do the brakes/rotors, rear view mirror and tail light. Those are the inexpensive repairs and required by law under the warranty as safety issues. It took the car being in their shop for 3 WEEKS to get these things done. They refused to address the other issues, and it will come to about $4000 (on a $10,000 car.) Thus, they misrepresented the warranty and didn't cover what they said they would. They should never have sold the car in this condition. It's ridiculous. They gave me a run around and hassle over everything. I will NEVER go to any Belise dealership again. Do NOT trust them. They will lie through their teeth.

My experience at Balise Hyundai was anything but acceptable. If I could give negative stars I would! I dropped my car off to the shop in early June with a knocking in the engine and was told it should be repaired in two weeks. The shop was horrible at speaking with my case manager from Hyundai providing them the information that they needed to cover my repair. Once the repair was finally approved, I was unable to get any information from Omar (my service advisor) regarding my car. I was lied to about my parts being ordered and in the shop and continuously was being pushed out weeks at a time. Omar was unresponsive to my calls or texts and I had to go directly to the service manager, Jose, for any information about my repair. Even then it was hard to get anyone on the phone and the only way to get information about my car was to take personal time off and go there in person. Almost four and a half months later they finally had my car up on the lift in early October to find out that all of the parts for my car were not ordered and pushed me out another two weeks…. It was nearly impossible to have a straight answer from Omar or Jose as to when I would have my car back and operable. When I did receive my car, I was told that the battery I purchased two years ago was faulty and had to be replaced. I was not given the option to exchange the battery that was still under warranty and when I requested that battery back they provide me with a battery that was not for my car! Not to mention that the “new” one was from December 2020 and already a more than a year into its warranty! Upon driving my car off of the lot in the rain, my wipers flew off of the car, my tail lights, blinkers and running lights were all blown out and my ac was not working to de-fog my windshield. This ship down right lied about doing a full inspection on a car that was claimed to be “road ready” The service and treatment of loyal customers was completely inappropriate and I would never recommend Balise Hyundai, let alone a Hyundai service team, to anyone! I do NOT recommend this shop or even purchasing a Hyundai based on the way I was treated.

On Oct. 5, I found a 2022 Tucson model that I liked in-transit to Balise Hyundai of Fairfield. Ryan, a sales rep, called me to reserve the car with a deposit and apply for financing. So, I gave him my credit card information for $1,000 deposit over the phone and applied financing. Later that day, Ryan called and said the car could not be sold to me because the car in-transit was supposed to be swapped with another Hyundai dealer. I made a complaint call to Dennis, Sales Manager, of Balise Hyundai of Fairfield for taking my deposit information and having run my wife’s and my credit report without assuring the car. Dennis apologized but said “it happened all the time.” His comment made me more upset and called Robert, General Manager, to complain. Robert got back to be on Oct. 8 to inform me that he found the exact car (VIN: 5NMJBCAE9NH043916) that I wanted and should be in the early following week. Again, I reserved the car with a copy of my driver license and $2,500 deposit. On Oct. 18, I received email from Scott, a sales rep, the car would arrive during the week. On Oct. 26, I contacted Robert and Scott since there was no follow-up since then. Scott replied that the car was sold out by another dealer that had offered to Balise of Hyundai. They are very unprofessional, and treat you terribly. They don’t honor their warranties. Had to deal with them for 6 months to get a taillight that was burnt out when I received the vehicle. Still haven’t gotten my taillight. All in all they wasted far too much of my time and I got nothing in return. They are dishonest and don’t give an f about you or your car. Steve is wonderful and helped me with absolutely everything I could want. He was so helpful and figured out a solution that worked for me and my needs. I have a dog with a lot of hair so all I really wanted was a vehicle with leather seats to easily vacuum. I purchased a G80 Genisis from this dealership with 6000 miles on the car. Being an out of state resident I relied on Charles Goldstein, New Car Sales Manager, who claims he inspected the car. Charles said the car was in “new condition”. The car was delivered to me. The following day I walked out of my office and with the sunlight in a different direction I noticed significant hail damage to the hood of the car. I called Charles and told him of the damage. They sold me a truck with the engine knocking, so I canceled the deal and went in to get my $4000 back.they told me to dispute the charges with my bank and I asked for a receipt to give to my bank saying they would refund me. Then one of the guys begins giving me grief so I say hey do I have to involve the authorities he begins to curse and call me a nut job. I then ask whats his position there and turns out he was the GM. The GM lied about his position there's taking he was head janitor, insulted a combat veteran calling me a nut and cursing and storming off he hide in a glass office. The sales manager Dennis and salesperson Dan lied about his name calling him "Scott" and they said he was the lease manager and told me I didn't want to do this. It wasn't until I asked another salesperson his GMs name and he said Robert Serrano. They also tried to sneak a 2100 dollar extended warranty into my deal . Im reporting this to Hyundai Corporate and the owners of Balise.

Do not visit this dealership. These are the people that give car dealers a bad reputation. I went in purchase a "Balise certified, accident free" vehicle. I had never purchased a vehicle from a dealership before. I negotiated a purchase price with financing and a $5000 down payment. At signing the numbers didn't seem to reflect the price. The sales manager was called in an on a separate piece of paper 'went over the numbers"can. Essentially he flim flammed me out of the down payment. I will be contacting the state attorney general office. They wanted me out of there so fast before I could come to my senses that they took took the plates off my trade in, put them on the new car and said all the paper work was in the envelope. I drove home not knowing that the car was NOT LEGALLY REGISTERED. Days later I get a call from the sales woman asking how I was going to register the car. Apparently I had been driving around for almost a week in an unregistered car. In addition they only gave me one proximity key. When I asked about the second key (all cars have two keys) David Walton the sales manager desmissally said "go online and buy one for $30. . These proximity keys are $300! They had my money, now they just wanted me gone. I was having snow tires put on at the time and the shop showed me that there was repaired damage to the right front end and one of the rear struts was busted. Apparently their Balise certified means only that the vehicle can be driven off their lot. OK, my bad for letting myself get taken. These people WILL CHEAT YOU if they can. BEWARE!

Absolutely wonderful experience with Balise Hyundai. Andy was very professional and just made me feel very comfortable by his demeanor. He was very professiona, very personable and made me feel comfortable which is someone you want to buy something from. When I buy something the most important thing to me is trusting them and not them just looking out for THEIR OWN best interest. Bill and Andy both knew about my needs being recently handicapped I really felt that they wanted me to truly be happy and not just “someone buying a car” , which I am overly happy with my purchase. One thing worth mentioning is that, I had gone to other dealerships, and other dealerships that were not Hyundai. Out of all of the dealerships they (Andy + staff) were the only ones that greeted me with the respect myself as a 33-year-old adult deserves. With no ego I can say I am a very young looking person and due to medical problems I can only wear sport/track pants which I could tell as soon as I walked into other dealerships I notice all of the eye rolls and pretending to be busy nonsense presuming I am just someone Who doesn’t realize Mondays are too expensive for me.... unbeknownst to them that I was a cash buyer with a budget of $50,000 but ultimately wanting to stay under about $30,000. I’ve been in the car business before and know all the judgments that are passed by the salesman just by the customers appearance. Andy however greeted me almost immediately and just spoke to me like I was a good friend he hadn’t seen in a while, which was great. As far as the car goes The Sonata is a wonderful car and absolutely blew me away by how well it drove/drives and I have had 3 Audi’s in the past that I thought to myself “Never in a million years would I think that a Hyundai would make me feel as comfortable as I’m driving in mt Audi”. So great job on car design and ergonomics of the vehicle… Not to mention it’s striking appearance. I apologize for the novel feedback but I just feel it was necessary to make sure it is noticed how well the buying process was because customer service is everything when it comes to product purchases. I was surprised to learn that there was no wiggle room on the price before leasing. They could have explained my request better. I wanted and leased two vehicles looking for a max payment per month, with a small upfront payment. However, I felt rushed during the delivery process, just sign, sign , sign. Since this was my first car, I was quite worried about the process in general and had a tough time going through several dealerships. I am extremely thankful to the guys at Balise Hyundai for their patience and willingness to help me during the entire course of my car purchase. They offered me a couple of cars even before it hit the market and worked with me to find the right one.
