2020 Hyundai Palisade for Sale in Fairfield, CT
This full-sized SUV will replace the Korean automaker’s current largest offering, the Santa Fe XL, which is in its final model year. It will compete with the likes of the Subaru Ascent, Nissan Pathfinder, Toyota Highlander, Honda Pilot, and the very similar Kia Telluride, which will go on sale just before the Palisade does.
The starting MSRP is in the mid-$30K range, like other SUVs that fit seven or eight passengers. The powertrain is a 3.8-liter V6 making 291 horsepower paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. There’s no word on how many trim levels there will be, but all-wheel drive with a special snow-mode selector should be available on all of them, with front-wheel drive as the default. The Palisade is an upscale vehicle with impressive equipment both standard and optional. These will include the technology and comfort upgrades that today’s vehicle buyer has come to expect, such as wireless device charging, heated seats and steering wheel, cooled seats, and advanced active safety technology.
Technology and Safety
The infotainment system has become a central focus in today’s vehicles, especially SUVs that can fit a lot of people. Everybody wants somewhere to plug in their smartphone, and music and navigation are essential for every ride. USB ports will be standard in the first two rows and optional (probably as part of a higher-level package) for the third row. Hyundai also promises a striking fully digital instrument cluster that will make it easy for the driver to find essential vehicle information. The available vehicle intercom system comes with a sleep mode feature that can be activated so that sleeping back-row passengers behind aren’t disturbed.
Standard state-of-the-art active safety equipment will be a highlight of the ’20 Hyundai Palisade, with the likes of blind-spot collision avoidance, driver attention warning, forward collision-avoidance, rear cross-traffic monitor, and safe exist assist, which safeguards passengers leaving the vehicle on the traffic side. One innovative feature, the Blind View Monitor, shows a clear view of the side blind spots projected on the instrument panel, courtesy of cameras mounted on the exterior mirrors that turn on when the turn signals are used. Ultrasonic Rear Occupant Alert will be available to remind the driver to check for a child or pet who may have been forgotten in the back seat; the Hyundai Blue Link telemetrics system will send alert messages if the driver leaves the vicinity of the vehicle.
Comforts and Convenience
The Palisade’s second row can be ordered as a pair of captain’s chairs (with available heating and cooling) or the default three-person bench. Thanks to the recline-capable third-row bench seat, that brings the capacity to either seven or eight. A power-folding/-sliding feature will be available for both rows, for exceptional access through the cabin. Of course, the interior will be spacious and comfortable, with plenty of space for everyone and their stuff – as well as a whole slew of cup holders (sixteen). More stuff will fit on top of the Palisade, with roof rails standard or available. Other high-level options will include quilted Nappa leather interior accents, a dual-panel moonroof, and a hands-free liftgate.
