2020 Hyundai Kona EV for Sale in Fairfield, CT
In 2019, Hyundai introduced the all-electric version of the popular Kona crossover, and since then, it has garnered attention as one of the leading EVs on the market. Its popularity is due in large part to its good looks, long list of standard equipment, and extended driving range. Plus, it’s really fun to drive in ways you wouldn’t normally expect from an electric vehicle. But that’s just what the 2020 Hyundai Kona Electric is setting out to do: defy the common stereotypes associated with the EV segment while it proves that these vehicles can be fuel-efficient and exciting at the same time.
The improvements to the 2020 Hyundai Kona Electric from its debut model year include a larger optional infotainment touchscreen and a new battery warmer for the Limited and Ultimate trims, which improves charging times and preserves cold-weather driving range. Every new Hyundai also now receives three years/36,000 miles of complimentary scheduled vehicle maintenance (for EVs, that means tire rotations and air filter changes). Buyers of this eco-friendly vehicle are also eligible for a substantial tax break.
Powertrain and Standard Features
The 2020 Hyundai Kona Electric is offered in the SEL, Limited, and Ultimate trims. Each is front-wheel drive and gets its power from a 64-kWh battery pack that juices a 150-kW electric motor making 201 horsepower and 291 lb.-ft. of torque. With this powertrain and the battery warmer that’s been added for this year, the 2020 Hyundai Kona Electric is rated to achieve 258 miles of range on a fully charged battery, with an MPGe rating of 120.
The SEL kicks off with plenty of desirable features not commonly found on a base trim, such as LED daytime running lights, a roof-mounted spotlight, automatic headlights, LED taillights, heated side mirrors with turn-signal indicators, privacy glass, a rearview camera, heated front seats, a 60/40 split fold-flat rear seat, automatic climate control, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and Proximity Key entry with push-button start. The Limited adds LED headlights, a sunroof, a power-adjustable driver’s seat, leather seating surfaces, and an auto-dimming rearview mirror. The Ultimate gets rain-sensing wipers and heated/cooled front seats.
All versions of the 2020 Hyundai Kona Electric come with a suite of active safety features consisting of blind-spot collision warning, rear cross-traffic alert, forward collision warning, lane keeping assist, and a driver attention warning monitor. The Limited gets high beam assist, while the Ultimate is supplied with stop-and-go adaptive cruise control and pedestrian detection for the forward collision warning system. Also, while the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) hasn’t crash-tested the 2020 Hyundai Kona Electric specifically, the regular gasoline-burning 2020 Hyundai Kona was awarded a five-star rating by that organization.
The SEL is outfitted with fine technology for communication and entertainment: a six-speaker audio system, a 7-inch infotainment touchscreen, satellite and HD radio, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, dual USB outlets, and Blue Link Connected Car System services (3-year trial service). The Limited yields a wireless smartphone charger, while the Ultimate rounds out the tech amenities with a 10.25-inch infotainment touchscreen, a premium eight-speaker Infinity audio system, integrated navigation, and additional Blue Link services.
