Trims, Powertrain, and Performance

Hyundai offers the ’25 Tucson PHEV in a simple lineup of two trims, SEL and Limited. They share the same plug-in hybrid powertrain, which combines a turbocharged 1.6-liter four-cylinder gasoline engine with a 72-kW electric motor to put out 268 hp and 271 lb.-ft. of torque. A six-speed automatic transmission and Hyundai’s signature HTRAC all-wheel drive (AWD) system round out the big picture mechanically. According to the EPA’s official estimations, the ’25 Tucson PHEV achieves 35 mpg in both city and highway driving in hybrid mode and provides an all-electric range of 32 miles before reverting to regular hybrid operation.

Standard Features

The value-packed SEL is a strong entry-level trim with a good array of features for comfort and convenience. Its primary attributes are cloth upholstery, heated front seats, a power-adjustable driver’s seat, a hands-free liftgate, a 60/40-split fold-down/reclining rear seatback with a center armrest and cupholders, push-button start, dual-zone automatic climate control, console-mounted rear AC vents, LED interior lighting, and a dual-level cargo floor. On the tech side, it gets wireless phone charging, Digital Key 2, dual front USB-C ports (one for data/charging and one exclusively for charging), dual second-row USB charging ports, and a 4.2-inch LCD gauge cluster. The exterior showcases automatic-on/off bi-LED headlights, LED daytime running lights, heated side-view mirrors, roof rails, and rear privacy glass.

The Limited ticks up the luxury factor with leather upholstery, a heated leather-wrapped steering wheel, ventilated front seats, a power-adjustable passenger’s seat, heated rear seats, 64-color ambient interior lighting, a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster, a 12-inch head-up display (HUD), a panoramic sunroof, and position memory settings for the driver’s seat, side mirrors, and HUD. It also has rain-sensing windshield wipers, an auto-dimming rearview mirror with HomeLink, projector-type bi-LED headlights, LED taillights, and side mirrors with integrated turn indicators.

SmartSense Safety Technology

The ’25 Tucson PHEV is equipped with Hyundai’s sophisticated SmartSense active safety suite, which includes forward collision-avoidance assist (with pedestrian, cyclist, and junction-turning detection), blind-spot collision warning, driver attention warning, lane keeping assist, lane following assist, rear cross-traffic collision-avoidance assist, smart cruise control with stop-and-go, safe exit warning, and rear occupant alert. The Limited bolsters this suite with Remote Smart Parking Assist (self-parking), a surround-view camera, forward attention warning, a blind-spot view monitor, highway driving assist, navigation-based smart cruise control 2, parking sensors (front, side, and rear), and reverse parking collision-avoidance assist.

Infotainment and Connectivity

Both ’25 Tucson PHEV trims get a stellar 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto, wireless Apple CarPlay, SiriusXM satellite radio, HD Radio, and an audio system with speakers spread throughout the interior. The Limited gets a bit more, with an audio upgrade to a Bose unit, plus onboard navigation, dynamic voice recognition, and Hyundai Pay, allowing for quick driving-related purchases (i.e., fuel and parking) to be paid for directly through the touchscreen. Both trims are also compatible with Bluelink+ connected car services.
