The SE, SEL, and Limited trims make up the 2024 Venue lineup. Under the hood of this front-wheel-drive subcompact crossover is a 121-horsepower 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine; it forms the powertrain with a continuously variable transmission. This model’s fuel economy is terrific, with the EPA’s official determination stating that all trims return 29 mpg around town and 33 mpg on the highway.
The SE packs in far more than you’d expect at this price point. While it gets some basic features like cloth upholstery and manual climate control, it also has convenient features such as automatic headlights, heated side mirrors, two USB charging ports, and a 60/40-split folding rear seatback. The SEL is a significant step up, as it comes with a sunroof, dual-zone automatic climate control, proximity keyless entry, roof rails, push-button start, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, and second-row USB ports. While the Limited lacks the sunroof, it gains combination cloth and faux-leather upholstery, heated front seats, a wireless phone charger, and LED exterior lighting fixtures (headlights, daytime running lights, and taillights).
Hyundai certainly doesn’t skimp on safety, as they make their SmartSense driver-assist suite standard across all Venue trims. In the base SE, it provides forward collision-avoidance assist with pedestrian detection, automatic high beams, lane keeping assist, driver attention warning, and rear occupant alert. The two higher trims add blind-spot collision warning and rear cross-traffic warning; the Limited also gets an enhanced forward collision system featuring cyclist detection.
All ’24 Venues receive a state-of-the-art infotainment system contained within a crisp 8-inch touchscreen. The features it manages are wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, Bluetooth hands-free phone and audio streaming, HD Radio, and a six-speaker sound system. While Apple CarPlay and Android Auto require a manually plugged-in connection in the Limited, this trim compensates with integrated navigation and SiriusXM satellite radio.
