Trim Choices and Mechanical Details

Hyundai offers four trims for the Tucson Hybrid: Blue, SEL Convenience, N Line, and Limited. Their powertrain pairs a 1.6-liter four-cylinder gas-electric hybrid powerplant, which makes 226 combined horsepower. A six-speed automatic transmission with steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters controls the standard all-wheel drive.

The EPA has estimated the Tucson Hybrid’s fuel economy at 38 mpg for both city and highway travel for the Blue trim, which changes to 37 mpg around town and 36 mpg on the open road for the other trims. Behind the second row, the Tucson Hybrid has 41.2 cubic feet of cargo space, which increases to 80 cubic feet with the second row folded flat. When it’s properly equipped with trailer brakes, the Tucson Hybrid can tow up to 2,000 pounds.

Standard Features

The Tucson Hybrid Blue comes standard with surprising extras such as proximity keyless entry, a hands-free liftgate, heated front seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, and an eight-way power driver’s seat. This starter trim also gets fabric upholstery, LED headlights with auto on/off and automatic high beams, roof-mounted side rails, rear privacy glass, a tilt-and-telescopic steering column, and 17-inch alloy wheels. The SEL Convenience gets some tantalizing additions: a power panoramic sunroof, H-Tex upholstery, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, LED taillights, ambient LED cabin lighting, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, and 19-inch alloy wheels.

The N Line builds off the SEL Convenience by upgrading to leather and cloth-trimmed seating and adding unique exterior treatments including exclusive front and rear fascia, exterior lighting enhancements, and alloy sport pedals and scuff plates. Luxury touches get layered in with the Limited: leather upholstery, an eight-way power front passenger seat, ventilated front seats, a heated steering wheel, heated rear seats, a driver’s position memory system, projector-style LED headlights, trim-specific exterior accents, and rain-sensing windshield wipers.
