The ‘24 Santa Fe comes in a quintet of trims: SE, SEL, XRT, Limited, and Calligraphy, which all get their power from their aforementioned 2.5-liter inline 4-cylinder turbocharged engine making 277 horsepower and 311 lb.-ft. of torque. It’s paired with an 8-speed wet dual-clutch transmission, which has its gear selector mounted on a stalk at the steering wheel rather than the center, where there is now a pair of wireless device charging pads (paddle shifters are also included). Front-wheel drive is standard on all but the XRT, which is made only with HTRAC all-wheel drive (AWD); the other trims can be upgraded with that drivetrain. When the XRT is equipped with trailer brakes, it has a maximum towing capacity of 4,500 pounds, while the other four trims will cap out at 3,500 pounds.
On the SE, look for a hands-free smart liftgate, proximity entry, heated side mirrors, LED exterior lighting (auto headlights/daytime running lights/taillights), a leather-wrapped steering wheel, stain-resistant cloth upholstery by YES Essentials, driver’s-side power lumbar support (two-way), four USB ports, and two 12-volt power outlets (front/cargo). The SEL adds roof rails (capacity: 220 lb.), dual-zone automatic temperature control, H-Tex upholstery, heated front seats, an 8-way power driver’s seat, integrated turn indicators for the side mirrors, wireless device charging, and the Hyundai Digital Key 2. In addition to standard AWD, the XRT has all-terrain tires, C-pillar assist handles (for ease in reaching the roof rails), and a 1.3-inch higher ground clearance, while altering its appearance with a sunroof, black H-Tex upholstery, unique interior trim, dark chrome, and blacked-out coloring throughout the wheels, side-view mirrors, grille, “H” logo, Santa Fe nameplate, and XRT badging. It also gets a 110V power outlet and Hyundai Pay technology.
The Limited adds a heated steering wheel, leather seats, ventilated front seats, an 8-way power passenger seat, four-way driver’s-side power lumbar support, heated rear seating, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, ambient interior lighting, a UV-C sanitizer compartment, two USB ports in the third row, a dual-pane sunroof, rain-sensing windshield wipers, and power-folding side mirrors. At the top of the lineup, the Calligraphy is loaded with Nappa leather upholstery, a driver’s-seat leg-cushion extension, dual wireless device charging, a 12-inch head-up display, and 2nd-row captain’s chairs with power fold, dive, recline, and tilt functions.
Every ‘24 Santa Fe SUV is protected by the Hyundai SmartSense suite of advanced safety and driver-assist technologies. All trims have forward collision-avoidance, smart cruise control, blind-spot warning, lane following assist, lane keeping assist, driver attention warning, parking distance warning (forward/reverse), rear cross-traffic collision-avoidance, safe exit assist, high beam assist, and rear occupant alert. All but the SE add forward attention warning and an advanced version of the rear occupant alert, while the XRT and above also receive highway driving assist 1 and navigation-based smart cruise control. The Limited has a surround view monitor, blind-spot monitor, Remote Smart Parking Assist, and parking distance warning that detects side obstacles, not just front and back. The Calligraphy distinguishes itself with the addition of blind-spot collision-avoidance and Highway Driving Assist 2.
All ‘24 Santa Fe trims have a 12.3-inch panoramic touchscreen infotainment system with wireless smartphone connection (Android Auto and Apple CarPlay), Bluetooth hands-free phone and audio streaming, dynamic voice recognition, HD Radio, and SiriusXM satellite radio. Bluelink connected car service comes standard as well, with over-the-air updates. Onboard navigation and the Hyundai Pay feature are found on the XRT and above. The lower trims have a basic audio system, while the Limited and Calligraphy upgrade to a 12-speaker Bose array.
