The 2024 Palisade can seat up to eight (depending on whether its second row is a bench seat or a pair of captain’s chairs) and comes in these trim levels: SE, SEL, XRT, Limited, Calligraphy, and Calligraphy Night Edition. Their powertrain is made up of a 3.8-liter V6 engine (291 hp and 262 lb.-ft. of torque) and an eight-speed automatic transmission; front-wheel drive is standard and all-wheel drive is available. With FWD, the ’24 Palisade will return 19 mpg in the city and 27 mpg on the highway, according to the official estimates done by the EPA. AWD changes the ratings to 19 city/25 highway. This vehicle’s maximum towing capacity is 5,000 pounds.
The eight-passenger SE has an all-encompassing suite of upscale amenities, some of the most notable of which include proximity keyless entry, push-button start, automatic LED headlights and daytime running lights, dual-zone automatic climate control, a 4.2-inch gauge cluster, an auto-dimming rearview mirror and heated auto-dimming side mirrors, a haptic-feedback steering wheel, five USB ports (four Type-C), and a convenient underfloor storage compartment. There are 60/40-split bench seats in the second and third rows, and the sound system has a useful quiet mode to keep those seats serene.
An infotainment system with a 12.3-inch touchscreen is standard as well, providing integrated navigation, dynamic voice recognition, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Bluetooth hands-free phone and audio streaming, HD Radio, SiriusXM satellite radio, and a Wi-Fi hotspot.
For added safety, the SE is equipped with the Hyundai SmartSense safety suite, a generous grouping of advanced driving aids that consists of automatic high beams, driver attention warning, navigation-based adaptive cruise control with highway driving assist, forward collision-avoidance assist (with pedestrian, cyclist, and junction turning detection), blind-spot collision warning, rear cross-traffic collision-avoidance assist, lane following assist, lane keeping assist, safe exit assist, rear occupant alert, and rear parking sensors.
This trim is sweetened with Digital Key, LED taillights and cabin lights, door-handle welcome lights, roof rails, a hands-free liftgate, H-Tex upholstery, heated power-adjustable front seats, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and wireless phone charging. It’s configured with second-row captain’s chairs, although buyers can opt for the bench seat if they prefer the eight-passenger capacity.
The available Premium Package will outfit an abundance of high-end amenities, like a sunroof, heated and ventilated seats for the first two rows, a heated steering wheel, a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster, a 12-speaker Harman Kardon audio system, a HomeLink universal garage door opener, an in-car PA system, position memory for the side mirrors and driver’s seat, rear window sunshades, a pair of third-row USB-C ports, and a 115V power outlet. This package also adds a handful of superior safety aids, such as an enhanced forward collision system with lane change and evasive steering assist, a surround-view camera, front parking sensors, a more sophisticated highway driving assist system, and a live-feed blind-spot view monitor.
The XRT resembles the SEL without its available options, but it comes with the sunroof and rear sunshades. It also boasts black exterior trim, black H-Tex upholstery, and unique two-tone bumpers that give it a more aggressive appearance.
The Limited is a lot like the SEL with the available Premium Package, but it’s further heightened with rain-sensing wipers, leather upholstery, a head-up display, a heated power-folding third-row bench seat, 64-color ambient interior lighting, a dual-panel sunroof, power thigh-extension for the driver’s seat, and a special mélange headliner.
The top-of-the-line Calligraphy increases the luxury factor with Nappa leather upholstery, quilted leather door panels, an enhanced driver’s seat, a suede-like headliner, wing-out second-row headrests, a two-tone leather-wrapped steering wheel, and a frameless digital rearview mirror. Beyond that, it gets side-mirror puddle lights, premium rear accent lighting, and Remote Smart Parking Assist, Hyundai’s signature automatic parking system. The debuting Calligraphy Night, while including all those features, is distinguished by a blacked-out exterior and black leather upholstery.
