Trims, Powertrain, and Fuel Economy

SE, SEL, and Limited are your choices of trim packages for the restyled Elantra. This front wheel-drive four-door’s powertrain pairs a 147-horsepower 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with a continuously variable transmission (CVT). One reason for the Elantra’s popularity is its excellent fuel efficiency, with the EPA reporting a return of 32 mpg around town and 41 mpg on the highway with the SE and 31 city/40 highway with the SEL and Limited.

Standard and Available Features

The SE comes with remote keyless entry, automatic LED headlights, power side mirrors, various USB-C ports, manual climate control, and cloth upholstery. The SEL is upgraded with proximity keyless entry, dual-zone automatic climate control, push-button start, a 10.25-inch gauge cluster, and hands-free trunk release. With the optional Convenience Package, the SEL will be enhanced with heated front seats, wireless phone charging, heated side mirrors, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, and a 60/40-split folding rear seatback with an armrest and cupholders. The Limited includes all the above, plus a sunroof (which is available for the SEL), Digital Key, 64-color ambient interior lighting, simulated-leather upholstery, and a power-adjustable driver’s seat.

Safety and Driver-Assistive Technologies

Along with its abundance of airbags, including new additions to the rear sides of the vehicle, the ’24 Elantra has the Hyundai SmartSense safety suite installed. All trims receive forward collision-avoidance assist with pedestrian detection, blind-spot collision warning, speed limit assist, lane keeping assist, lane following assist, driver attention warning, automatic high beams, rear cross-traffic collision-avoidance assist, and safe exit warning. SEL buyers who elect the Convenience Package will also get an improved forward collision system with cyclist and junction-turning detection and adaptive cruise control. The Limited has all of that, in addition to a blind-spot view monitor, Highway Driving Assist, front and rear parking sensors with reverse collision-avoidance assist, and a surround-view monitor.

Infotainment and Connectivity

The standard multimedia system in the refreshed 2024 Elantra centers around an 8-inch touchscreen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, HD Radio, Bluetooth hands-free phone and audio streaming, voice recognition, and a six-speaker sound system. In the SEL and Limited, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay will require a plugged-in connection, but you get a superior 10.25-inch touchscreen that connects to the gauge cluster and brings in SiriusXM satellite radio. The Limited furthers the audio experience with a premium eight-speaker Bose sound system.
