2022 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid for Sale in Fairfield, CT
Trims, Powertrain, and Fuel Economy
Blue, SEL, and Limited are the three trim levels of the 2022 Sonata Hybrid. Their powertrain consists of a 2.0-liter gas-burning engine, an electric motor, and a six-speed automatic transmission. The system’s combined output is 192 horsepower. According to the official fuel economy estimates determined by the EPA, the Blue trim gets 50 mpg in city driving and 54 mpg on the highway. The SEL and Limited carry the weight of additional standard equipment and achieve a tad less: 45 mpg city/51 mpg highway. We’ve already mentioned the solar roof that comes standard on the Limited trim, which adds to the Sonata Hybrid’s range. Its regenerative braking system does the same, as it takes the kinetic energy produced as the vehicle is slowed down and stores it in the battery.
Standard Equipment by Trim
Some highlights of the entry-level Blue are dual-zone climate control, hands-free trunk operation, paddle shifters, keyless entry, exterior mirrors with integrated turn-signal indicators, LED headlights, keyless ignition, and a 60/40-split fold-down rear seatback. The SEL also gets Hyundai Digital Key, heated front seats with power adjustability, wireless phone charging, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, additional USB ports. The Limited is loaded, getting the previously mentioned solar roof along with leather seats, a heated steering wheel, ventilated front seats, a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster, upgraded LED headlights, rain-sensing windshield wipers, position memory (driver’s seat and exterior mirrors), a head-up display, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, a HomeLink universal garage door opener, ambient interior lighting, and a backseat armrest with cupholders.
Technologies for Increased Safety
The Hyundai SmartSense active-safety technology package comes standard on all Sonata Hybrid trims. It contains adaptive cruise control, automatic high beams, forward collision-avoidance assist with pedestrian detection, lane keeping assist, lane following assist, driver attention warning, blind-spot collision-avoidance assist, rear cross-traffic collision-avoidance assist, rear occupant alert (so that children and pets aren’t inadvertently left in the back seat), and safe exit warning. The Limited is the only trim that receives an extra array of driver-assist features: front and rear parking sensors, reverse parking collision-avoidance assist, Remote Smart Parking Assist, highway driving assist, a surround-view monitor, and a blind-spot view monitor (an exclusive feature among midsized hybrid sedans).
Connectivity and Infotainment
The Sonata Hybrid’s infotainment system is well stocked in all trims, with the Blue getting an 8-inch touchscreen, smartphone integration (Apple CarPlay and Android Auto), Bluetooth for hands-free phone use and audio streaming, and SiriusXM satellite radio. The SEL is enhanced with a premium Bose audio system and a total of 12 speakers, which the Limited also gets along with navigation and a class-largest 10.25-inch touchscreen.
