2022 Hyundai Kona for Sale in Fairfield, CT
Hyundai’s praiseworthy Kona has undergone a pretty nice refresh for model year 2022. This stylish subcompact crossover now has a more confident-looking front end, a longer profile, some new wheel designs, and front and rear skid plates that add even more personality. Its varied improvements extend to the cabin as well, where the latest Kona shows off an overhauled center stack and high-level options such as a digital gauge cluster, ambient interior lighting, and wireless smartphone charging. An 8-inch base infotainment touchscreen replaces the former 7-inch unit, too, and a deluxe 10.25-inch touchscreen is now optional. In addition to all of that, a race-inspired N Line trim has been added to the mix.
Trims, Powertrain, and Fuel Economy
The four trims making up the ’22 Kona’s lineup are the SE, SEL, N Line, and Limited. The SE and SEL have a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine (147 hp) coupled to a six-speed automatic transmission. The N Line and Limited get a turbocharged 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine (195 hp and 195 lb.-ft. of torque) that works with a seven-speed EcoShift dual-clutch automatic gearbox. They all come standard with front-wheel drive, but all-wheel drive is available. With FWD, the SE and SEL get an EPA-estimated 30 mpg in city driving and 35 mpg on the highway. With AWD, they achieve 28 city/33 highway. The FWD N Line and Limited return 29 city/35 highway, and if they’re AWD, they pull off 27 city/32 highway.
Features By Trim
The SE comes with LED daytime running lights, automatic headlights, keyless entry, cloth upholstery, dual front USB ports, a rearview camera with parking guidance, a tilt-and-telescopic steering wheel, a 60/40 split fold-down and reclining rear seatback, and a dual-level cargo floor. The SEL delivers remote start, heated side mirrors with turn-signal indicators, rear privacy glass, roof rails, Bluelink connected car services, and push-button ignition. Buyers of this trim can opt for a two-tone look with a black roof, dark grey body cladding, a moonroof, heated front seats, a wireless smartphone charger, automatic climate control, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, a one-touch front auto-up/down power window, and Digital Key (where your smartphone takes over as the key fob).
Much of that good stuff is standard on the N Line, minus the dark grey body cladding, two-tone roof, and moonroof. The N Line also gets trim-specific front and rear bumpers, a twin-tip exhaust, special sport cloth seats, a power-adjustable driver’s seat, aluminum alloy sport pedals, and red and gloss-black interior accents. The available upgrades for the N Line consist of LED headlights and taillights, a moonroof, and a 10.25-inch digital gauge cluster. While the Limited has all of that equipment, it doesn’t get any of the N Line’s exclusive style elements. In addition, the Limited comes with the dark grey body cladding, leather seats, power lumbar support, rear USB ports, an auto-dimming rearview mirror with HomeLink, and ambient interior lighting.
Technology and Safety Features
The SE is set up with a major supply of driver aids: lane following assist, lane keeping assist, forward collision-avoidance assist with pedestrian detection, rear occupant alert, and driver attention warning. The SEL adds blind-spot collision-avoidance assist, rear cross-traffic collision-avoidance assist, and safe exit warning. On top of all that, the N Line is eligible for adaptive cruise control and automatic high beams, which are standard on the Limited along with highway drive assist and rear parking sensors.
The SE and SEL have an infotainment system with an 8-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and Bluetooth hands-free phone and audio streaming. The N Line delivers an eight-speaker Harman Kardon sound system, HD radio, and SiriusXM satellite radio. It’s also eligible for a 10.25-inch touchscreen with navigation, dynamic voice recognition, and wired Apple CarPlay and Android Auto (since the larger touchscreen isn’t compatible with wireless smartphone integration), all of which is standard on the Limited.
