2020 Hyundai Santa Fe in CT

Overview

After receiving a full redesign in 2019, the 2020 Hyundai Santa Fe carries over to the next model year flaunting the same great looks plus some interesting changes. New this year is the exclusion of the top trim, the Ultimate, as well as improved blind-spot safety technology for the Limited trim. Also, in true Hyundai form, there's now additional standard equipment included at a price that makes this one of the best deals in the auto industry. Of course, the same outstanding 10-year/100,000-mile powertrain limited warranty remains as well.

Trims and Powertrains

For 2020, the Santa Fe comes in five trim levels: SE, SEL, SEL 2.0T, Limited, and Limited 2.0T. Each of the non-2.0T trims is propelled by a 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine that cranks out 185 horses and 178 pounds-feet of torque, but the 2.0T versions have a turbocharged 2.0-liter engine that produces 235 hp and 260 lb.-ft. of torque. Each of these engines is mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission with the choice of front- or all-wheel drive.

Comfort and Convenience

The SE includes a rearview camera system, stain-resistant cloth upholstery, a sound-reducing windshield, remote keyless entry, and reclining rear seats. Stepping up to the SEL gets you push-button ignition, leather upholstery, heated front seats and side mirrors, and a power-adjustable driver's seat. There's an optional Convenience Package for this trim that will outfit it with roof rails, dual-zone automatic climate control, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, a hands-free power liftgate, and an auto-dimming rearview mirror. On top of that, you can include a Premium Package for leather seating, a power passenger seat, a panoramic sunroof, LED lighting, and turn-signal indicators for the side mirrors. The SEL 2.0T gets these as standard equipment. With the Limited and Limited 2.0T, all of those features-including the optional ones-are bundled on top of ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, and a heated steering wheel.

Safety Features

The SE comes with some helpful driver aids through Hyundai's SmartSense system, which includes forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking and pedestrian detection, lane keeping assist, adaptive cruise control, rear occupant alert, and automatic high beams. The SEL and SEL 2.0T each get blind-spot and rear cross-traffic alert monitors, as well as Safe Exit Assist (which prevents rear doors from opening into oncoming traffic). The Convenience Package mentioned above can provide your SEL with ultrasonic rear occupant alert and reverse parking distance warning. These all carry over to the Limited and Limited 2.0T, which both receive an improved Blind View Monitor that displays a real-time image of the blind spots on both sides of the vehicle.

Technology

With the SE, you'll enjoy a 7-inch infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, dual USB outlets, and Bluetooth capabilities. The SEL is outfitted with all of this as well, and it comes with satellite radio and some of Hyundai's Blue Link connectivity services. With the optional Convenience Package, a premium 12-speaker Infinity audio system is included, along with a wireless smartphone charging pad (both of which are standard on the SEL 2.0T). The Limited and Limited 2.0T both get an 8-inch touchscreen, integrated navigation, an around-view monitor, a head-up display, and the remaining Blue Link services.
